Best beaches and beach clubs in Mallorca
Mallorca is known for its warm weather all year round, so tanning is on the agenda. The coolest months are January and February with an average around 16˚C. The hottest period is during the summer months of July and August, when the weather is around 32˚C.

Beaches in Mallorca
Es Trenc
Es Trenc is next to the small town Ses Covetes. The beach is backed up by sand dunes, which extend into Salobrar de Campos, a 1500 hectare natural reserve. This beach is so famous that I try to avoid it during the summer holidays, especially on the weekends.
There is public parking Es Trenc with prices that vary according to the season and then there’s a small bus that takes you to the seven kilometres stretch of beach that feels decidedly Caribbean.
You will find a small chiringuito near the sunbeds that are for rent, but you are better off bringing your own food and drinks.

Playa de Muro
There is another long beach with a Caribbean feel called Playa de Muro, which stretches from the resort of Puerto d’Alcúdia to Can Picafort, close by is S’Albufera nature reserve. Now here, I have one of my favourite restaurants called
Ponderosa beach
Ponderosa beach where you sit and have paella with your feet in the sand, best feeling ever! Don’t forget to book especially on weekends.

Cap Falco
I also really like the Cap Falco, which is in Calvia. This is a small cove with a dozen sunbeds but if you get there early you might be lucky. What is really nice is the chill beach club where you can get some food and drinks by the beach.

Camp de Mar
Camp de Mar is on a family beach resort and golf area in the southwest of Mallorca, with a great little restaurant on a small island.
The Restaurant Illeta has been featured in several films and TV shows, including the Netflix series White Lines and the film A Long Way Down.
This restaurant, located on S’Illeta, a natural islet accessible by a wooden bridge. When walking along the bridge you can spot so many fish swimming around the wooden posts. Once you get to S’illeta, you can order a paella or jump from the rocks in the water; or both.

Portals beach
The water is so clear and calm, you can rent a pedalo and go and check out the small island (Illa d’en Sales) if you wish, rent one with a slide, it’s a lot more fun.
There’s a small chiringuito for drinks and snacks on the beach or you can go to S’esponja Puerto Portals restaurant which has a stunning view of the beach and order some tapas or the catch of the day.

Beach Clubs
Next let’s hit the beach clubs, you must book the sunbeds and restaurant in advance. We usually go on the Sunday when the beaches are packed with tourists and locals.
In no particular order of preference…
Purobeach Palma has a pool, sun beds around it and on the mezzanine, and a restaurant. Because it’s not that big, when the DJ gets started it can be noisy. Most people are there to be seen so there is no quiet corners.

Purobeach Illetas next to the sea, it has no pool but it’s much bigger and spread out, so you get more peace and quiet if you want. You also have access to the sea and can enjoy the restaurant.

Beach Club Gran Folies has a salt water pool and you have access to the sea (no sandy beach). This club has been there forever and is still as successful.
You can also go there for dinner with a view on the sunset.

Mhares Sea Club has the biggest swimming pool of them all and restaurant. This club is a lot more relaxed with a beautiful view.

UM Chambao Portals has a small swimming pool and similar to the Purobeach Palma, has a DJ, and the restaurant is really good.

Again a reminder to book your sun beds and table at any of these beach clubs, way in advance, sometimes even before your trip.
