Homemade Granola
Nutty treat that everyone will love

Cook Time

Servings
2 mason jars
Ingredients
250 gr mix of nuts and seeds (flacked almonds, cashews, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, pistachios)
300 gr porridge oats
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp water
4 tbsp vegetable oil
240ml maple syrup
40 gr pecan nuts
40 gr goji berries
My sister gave me this idea. She offered me a jar of homemade granola and I have now decided to make my own granola. Your homemade granola is healthier, has no added sugars and preservatives and is way cheaper than the one from your supermarket.
Turn the oven on at 135 ° C.
Mix in a bowl the oatmeal with all the different chopped nuts and seeds, except the pecan nuts and goji berries, which will be added at the end.
Next, mix all the ‘liquid’ ingredients together, the water, vegetable oil, syrup and salt.
Stir it all together to make a consistent paste. Spread the granola paste evenly on a baking sheet.
Put in the oven for 40 minutes and make sure you stir it from time to time until it’s golden syrup colour. Don’t worry if it seems soft in some places, it will turn crunchy after it’s cooled down.
Once the granola has cooled down you can store it in jars, that’s if you don’t have your kids around to eat it all.
It‘s perfect with yogurt, fruit or milk, for breakfast, tea or midnight snack. Enjoy!
